Washted/Rios Shiftalong Hat Kit

The beautiful sheen of Malabrigo's Washted single ply yarn created gorgeous contrasting color blips against the smooshy matte finish of the Malabrigo Rios.

When Carla first saw the Washted in Selva Peruana, she knew that she wanted to knit it up together with the Rios to make Andrea Mowry's Shiftalong hat. The pattern, however, is for sport or fingering weight yarn, and the Washted and Rios are worsted weight. To adapt the pattern for the yarn, Carla cast on the number of stitches for the child size hat in the pattern, but then followed the row repeats and decrease instructions for the small adult size. The result is a slouchy adult version of the hat.

Carla then used all of the leftover yarn to make a ginormous pom pom.

This kit includes one 100 gram skein of Malabrigo Rios and one 100 gram skein of Malabrigo Washted, and optional pattern.

Size US 7 mm - DPNs (or a longer circular for Magic Loop)
